Along our streets & in the ditches grows willow. This is a batch I cut this morning. 10/01/03
I clean & peel. As I strip the willow of it’s bark I sort into scraps and the long pieces.
With the long pieces I’m tying up willow hoops.
Here are the small bark scraps from peeling. I will make a sun tea and use as a hair rinse, if I had a head ache this would help to drink.
Gourds
Gourds from my garden
Earth painting Gourds that I grew!
Willow stick paint brushes far left. I chew the ends to soften.
I’ll tell & show you more about this Soon!
Luffa sponges growing
As the luffa grows, it matures. When it turns brown and looks dry, pick before the next rain. You don’t want it to stay on trellis once dry. Peeling is easy. Lots of seeds for next spring.
Seeds are all removed and cleaned. Ready to scrub a dub, anything!!
